We can slice and dice these words in a ka-zillion different ways but to me and the thousands upon thousands of other women living with Autoimmune Disorders, it’s all about discovering how to:

Feel Better, Not Worse.

And that’s exactly what this site is all about.
AnaMaria Herrera
Nice to “meet” you… I’m AnaMaria, founder of From Chronic To Cure™

I’m 100% dedicated to getting to
the root of Autoimmune Disorders
and share real-world solutions,
that WORK so you can start
feeling better, not worse.

I also…

  • am a big time foodie (as a child watched the Frugal Gourmet every Saturday morning on PBS)
  • recall being arrested in Mexico for riding motorcycles in the dunes of Baja
  • consider myself a huge fan of Car Talk (NPR podcast)
  • had a bad case of ichthyophobia, but crazy-enough I love the ocean
  • am learning to surf, even though balance has been a major issue with my disease (even standing on solid ground) and often get a piggy-back ride to the ocean!

IF YOU HAVE AN AUTOIMMUNE CONDITION
(OR FEAR YOU HAVE ONE),
I CAN HELP.

While I’m not a chef by profession, I often think in recipes.
Here’s one of my tried + true I pass on:

Start out with:

No. 1: UNDERSTANDING AUTOIMMUNITY.
There is A LOT of information out there about your illness. And I bet your doc won’t win any prizes for educating you on yours. (Mine sure didn’t). But moving from feeling like a victim with no power to empowered with choices from knowing what you’re dealing with is an essential step. Researchers are finding out that this primarily a Women’s disease. Statics also share that by having one AutoImmune Disorder you’re three times likely to contract another in your lifetime. Scarey. Learn why it is a crucial component to restore your health and prevent a recurrence of the illness.

Add a Good Helping of:

No 2.: GATHERING YOUR DREAM TEAM.
These are professionals who know these conditions, how to get to the root of the problem (instead of just chasing symptoms) and what measures to take to assist you on your recovery. I’ve found it’s key to not only know these experts exist (it took me YEARS to discover them) but also what questions to ask.

Have an Effective, Easy-to-Use Tool to…

No. 3: MANAGE STRESS: VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE.
One of the biggest components to Autoimmune Disorders is stress. And all health professionals are probably telling you to ‘keep it in check.’ But do they share with you simple, effective techniques to do just that? This is one of my favorite parts of my work: teaching you an easy + CAN DO tool to manage stress.

Make Sure to Include:

No. 4: CONNECT WITH A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY
Finding a supportive community of others who can empathize, encourage and share solutions that work for healing is KEY.

It wasn’t until years after I had those first symptoms, I discovered there were women like me: also experiencing debilitating symptoms AND committed to healing, willing to be their own advocate and find real-world solutions to make them feel better, not worse. Yes, there are women like you out there.

Last- but not least- add a huge helping of:

No. 5: MAKE YOU AND YOUR HEALING A PRIORITY… NO MATTER WHAT
Does this woman sound familiar? She’s the one that does more on 2 cylinders than others do on 4. The first to help, the last to go home and burns the candle at both ends. She also has a hard time putting herself first, even when her body and spirit are crying out for her to do just that.

Through my one on one sessions we go through each of these CRUCIAL steps to ensure you’re on the right track.

NON-AUTOIMMUNE LIFE…

Collage of AnaMaria
I’m a Californian girl, born and raised. While I’ve lived in other states and other countries it’s the sunny state I permanently call home.

Been in the healthcare field for years. I’ve experienced every side of the medical practice: from patient (with kidney problems) then manager and Health Practitioner to patient once again… this time with an Autoimmune Disorder.

It was mid 2015, years after those initial symptoms and three crucial conversations later that finally pushed me to start this website:

Conversation #1: The first skeptical doc who asked me what I was doing to turn things around

Conversation #2: A functional medical doc who told me “I’ve been in practice for 30 years… patients don’t talk like you. AnaMaria you need to write this all down.”

And last, but certainly not least…

Conversation #3: With my younger sister who has witnessed first hand the good, bad and ugly of my journey (from being completely bedridden, losing my sight to making a come-back and teasing her as only an older sister can. 😉 When I shared with her what these medical professionals were saying, she exclaimed:

“Girl, I’ve been telling you to write for years!”

Well, that’s when I finally decided to launch “From Chronic to Cure™” and document and share exactly what I’ve learned and discovered to make me feel better, not worse and what REALLY facilitates long term healing and longevity.

Life is Good. A Mystery at times. We’re all on a Journey.
Glad I get to stick around to experience it.
And I’m Grateful you’re Here too. 😉

THE OFFICIAL BIO

AnaMaria Herrera spent over 15 years in the healthcare field; having experienced every role of a practice: patient, manager, doc’s assistant and health practitioner.

Wanting a break from healthcare, she started her career in the wild world of the web and later started her own business assisting healthcare professionals with online marketing.

She became patient once again as she was diagnosed with an AutoImmune Illness and was told many times (by both western and alternative medicine docs) it was incurable. AnaMaria is proving that indeed the body can heal and is dedicated to teaching others with AutoImmune conditions how they can gain their health back.

When’s she’s not researching and teaching about Autoimmunity you can find her on her surfboard, cooking up meals while listening to her favorite podcasts, attending local Meet-up groups, checking out D.I.Y. videos on YouTube and dreaming about owning her first Cavapoo puppy.
